Hypnosis as a Practice

Hypnosis instigates change not only in altering the brain wave to the Alpha state, but with its synchronization with the heart.

The heart is a unique organ with nerves from both branches of the Autonomic Nervous Systems; a change in either the parasympathetic or sympathetic nervous system can affect how the heat beats, which then effects the body as a whole. A trained scientist can study heart beat by itself to determine if the person is healing or not.

Studying and practicing techniques around Opening the Heart is essential for suppressed emotions as they ultimately rob all body systems of energy, which has particular manifestations in both the heart and mind. OTH is especially beneficial for those grappling Addiction, where dual diagnosis is prevalent (an Addict previously diagnosed with Depression or Anxiety). Mitigating addictive behaviors by alleviating depressed feelings is a root-cause approach that helped develop my interest in working with those currently experiencing or recovering from Addiction.

Using the breath as a tool to directly activate the vagus nerve, is a rapid resolution to uncovering emotions. Hence, Breathwork is a transformative modality that is easily adapted to on an online format. I am drawn to finding how progressive relaxation techniques lead the client to cultivate dialogue from the subconscious.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Philosophy

My practice unravels that spirit and science try to convey the same message, but in two different languages. In TCM, the heart stores the Shen, the aspect of our being always reaching for new dreams, and transforms spirit of food into blood.

I merge both Hypnosis and Herbal modalities to find and transform the roots of desires, and address the Qi. Traditional Chinese Medicine acknowledges Qi as holder of memory and emotion. This body of thought also precedes what modern science unveils today;

TCM considered the liver's active role in making blood for thousands of years. Physicians today have discovered this only recently.

I focus on herbs work directly affecting both energetic and physical components of the heart, the HPA axis (main stress response pathway), and repeating mental narratives, many categorized into Nervines that promote relaxation and rebuild neuronal networks. Medical Hypnotherapy augments these capacities with approaches tailored towards the "Stress Patient," post-trauma incidents, stroke clients, etc.

I have long considered transformed subconscious beliefs and a nourished nervous system as the two pillars of a healthy, harmonizing lifestyle and outlook.
